- As of August 7, Vietnam’s Ministry of Health confirmed a total of 750 cases of COVID-19. However, 392 of the affected patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals. Vietnam has also recorded 10 deaths due to the pandemic. The latest local cases have been reported from Da Nang, Bac Giang, Thanh Hoa, Quang Nam, and Quang Tri.
- Da Nang city authorities have decided to carry out COVID-19 tests on all residents, including foreigners. City authorities have also built one field hospital in Hoa Vang district and the second one in Hai Chau district, which came into operation on August 4.
- Non-essential businesses such as bars and nightclubs in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have also been closed since July 30 and July 31 respectively until further notice. Gatherings of more than 30 people have also been banned.
- From July 29, provincial authorities in Quang Nam and Phu Yen have temporarily closed tourist attractions. Social distancing measures have also been imposed in Hoi An and Dak Lak province.
