The organisers, including the RoK Embassy, Ha Noi People’s Committee and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, selected the Starlake urban complex in the West Lake area as the venue.
This year is the 10th time the annual event has been held, and this year’s budget is seven times higher than the inaugural event.
The festival will feature a Viet Nam-RoK talent contest, a 100-stall food space and musical performances.
Viet Nam and the RoK established diplomatic ties on December 22, 1992. They set up their comprehensive strategic partnership in August 2001, and agreed to lift ties to a strategic cooperative partnership in October 2009.
Traditional Korean foods are becoming increasingly popular amongst Vietnamese people, namely kimchi, kimbab, bulgogi, cold noodle soup, and noodles with black bean sauce. Korean pop music and fashion also have increased influence on Vietnamese youths.
